Frequently asked questions

What do you mean by medium/material?
By "medium/material," I mean the type of paint/technique and the surface on which the work is created. For example: "acrylic on canvas" (medium: acrylic paint; material: canvas) or "oil paint on wood panel." This indicates how the artwork was created and assists with maintenance and appreciation.

What materials do you use for your artworks?
I primarily paint with Cobra oil paint from Royal Talens. This is a top-quality water-mixable oil paint: the same beautiful pigments and texture as traditional oil paint, but much kinder to the environment and to me (no turpentine needed, just clean with soap and water). This perfectly aligns with how I want to work: consciously, sustainably, and with a focus on quality.
Specific details are listed with each artwork.

Are the artworks framed and/or equipped with a hanging system?
No. All my paintings and panels are deliberately delivered unframed and without a hanging system (such as wire, hooks, or slots). This means you can choose your own hanging method and/or frame.

What are some tips for hanging the artwork?
Hang the artwork at eye level (approximately 150-160 cm from the floor to the center) using a spirit level. Use sturdy hooks or hanging systems suitable for the weight. For heavy pieces, I recommend using wall plugs. Ensure a stable wall and avoid areas with a lot of vibrations (e.g., near doors).

Because the wooden panels (especially the small ones) are thin and drilling into them poses a risk of damage or splitting, I recommend methods that keep the panel intact. Consider adhesive hangers (for lightweight panels) or framing it with a floating frame.

Alternatives without hanging: Simply place the panel or canvas nicely on a cabinet, shelf, or dresser. Or put it on a photo or painting ledge.

How do I maintain my artwork?
To keep your artwork in optimal condition, avoid direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and humidity. Dust it with a soft, dry cloth or duster. Do not use cleaning agents or water.

What is the delivery time for an order?
Once your order is received and paid, I will prepare the painting for shipping within 1 to 5 business days. It usually happens faster, but I take the time needed for perfect packaging.
The standard delivery time is therefore approximately 2 to 7 business days within the Netherlands.
For international shipments, expect 10-20 business days.
You will receive a track & trace code once it has been shipped.

How will my artwork be delivered?
All shipments are insured with PostNL (up to an appropriate amount depending on the value of the work).
Each painting is carefully packed with protective material and bubble wrap in a sturdy box or envelope.

Shipping costs vary depending on size and destination and are calculated at checkout.

What is your return policy?
Because each painting is handmade with such care and attention, it is unfortunately not possible to return a purchase
Doubting? Feel free to contact me before ordering – I am happy to help you with extra photos and details about the work.

What payment options do you accept?
I accept PayPal and bank transfer.

Are your artworks authentic?
Yes, all my works are handmade by myself. With each piece, you will receive a certificate of authenticity with a signature and date.

Is a hand-painted copy authentic?
No, a study/copy (replica) of an existing painting is not authentic in the sense of an original artwork. Authentic here means: originally created by the artist themselves. My copies are hand-painted tributes/homages – made by me, but always clearly marked as a replica. I provide a certificate confirming that it was painted by me, with all details, so you know what you are buying.
